Its purpose is to be able to make VoIP calls but to proceed, you must be connected to wi-fi then logon to either AIM, MAN, Skype, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ and Twitter. I have provided the step by step guide below to install Fring on your mobile phone.

To proceed, you must have the Installer App:

^Open the Installer App.
^With the Install App screen open, go to the bottom right hand of your screen then select the Sources icon.
^Tap the Edit button on the top right hand.
^Select the Add button on the top left hand.
^In the add source, add this website: http://fring.com/iphone.xml. Then select OK, and wait for the source to refresh.
^Go back to the Categories screen, and select the app Fring.
^Then tap the Fring icon and tap install.
^Tap the red install.

Your VoIp should be ready for use.
